EXPERTISE
Translation is about transferring legal intent and technical accuracy across languages and administrative systems. Tom has been authorised as an English translator and interpreter by Romania's Ministry of Justice since 1998.
He is also experienced in the translation of commercial, technical and medical documentation. He has navigated both US and Romanian administrative procedures on behalf of clients, and on his own account.
For property buyers, this means you have an interpreter who understands what everyone is saying and can certify a translation at the notary.

TRANSLATION SERVICES - OPTIONS
Legal Translation:
The document is translated by an authorised translator and bears Tom's official stamp and signature. This is the form accepted by Romanian institutions for most routine purposes.
10 EUR for the first page, 7 EUR for pages 2 to 20. Contact us for more than 20 pages.
Certified Translation:
The translation is performed and stamped as above, then taken to a Notary Public who certifies Tom's signature on the translation. This is the form required by courts, immigration authorities, and many foreign institutions that need the translator's identity formally verified.
10 EUR for the first page, 8 EUR for pages 2 to 20 + notary fee (once per document, usually 10-15 EUR)
Specialized translation:
Technical, scientific, medical, and complex legal documents that need domain understanding and additional research. Pricing depends on the difficulty of the translation.
12 to 15 EUR per page.

A page is the standard 2,000 characters with spaces, the convention used across the Romanian translation profession. A typical sale-purchase agreement runs three to six pages.
INTERPRETATION
Hourly Engagements
Live, authorised interpretation at notary signings, court hearings, and administrative appointments. You hear, in English, exactly what is being said, and the room hears exactly what you are saying.
We are based in Deva and for now we for now we can only travel in the counties Hunedoara, Alba and Sibiu for hourly appointments.
50 EUR per hour, travel time included. Minimum 48 hour notice required.
We accept a limited number of interpretation appointments and prefer to be booked in advance. For appointments contact us early.

VOLUME AND WORK
Discounts apply for volume and for extended engagements. If you have a sustained translation need (an ongoing legal matter, a series of contracts, a multi-document transaction, or a recurring corporate workflow), tell us the rough shape of the work and we will quote it as a package rather than page by page.
